Biography

Philipp graduated from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (diploma in Technomathematik) in 2008. He subsequently moved to the Technical University of Munich(TUM) and obtained his Ph.D. in 2013 for research on hybrid multiscale simulation approaches for micro- and nanoflows. Besides continuing his research at TUM, Philipp was involved in the scientific program management of the DFG priority program “Software for Exascale Computing” (SPPEXA). In 2016/17, he joined DKRZ and the Scientific Computing group. Since August 2019, Philipp holds the chair for high-performance computing at Helmut-Schmidt-University, see www.hsu-hh.de/hpc for details.
