====== Bull I/O Cooperation ====== The research department of DKRZ is involved in a cooperation with Bull to improve I/O for climate applications on the Mistral supercomputer. DKRZ is supported with two positions that collaborate in a co-design approach. One position focuses on improving compute and I/O on the application layer, the other on improving I/O starting on the middleware layer. This page describes the role of the latter position. See the general project description and organization here (TODO link). **Contact (for the I/O subproject)** [[people:alumni:julian_kunkel|Dr. Julian Kunkel]] ===== People from WR ===== * [[people:alumni:julian_kunkel]] (Contact) * [[People:Alumni:Eugen Betke]] ===== Goals ===== * Deploy I/O monitoring on Mistral * Analyze performance of I/O libraries and climate applications * Evaluate future architectures * Optimize I/O for climate applications and especially the ICON climate modell ===== Results ===== * NetCDF file splitter * [[research:projects:bullio:hdf5-multifile:start|HDF5 multi-file]] * [[research:projects:bullio:netcdf_external_links:start|netCDF external links]] * [[research:projects:bullio:benchmark_tool:start|NetCDF-Bench]] * [[research:projects:bullio:online_monitoring:start|Real-time On-line Monitoring of I/O]] * [[research:projects:bullio:burst_buffer:start|Burst Buffer Evaluation]]
